Dutch Air Navigation Service Provider, Luchtverkeersleiding Nederland (LVNL) has selected Era, in partnership with the Holland Institute of Traffic Technology B.V. (HITT) company, to provide a Wide Area Multilateration solution in the Netherlands North Sea area. Era’s solution utilizes its MSS sensors, which will be strategically placed on platforms in the North Sea and onshore, to provide optimal surveillance coverage over the Dutch portion of the North Sea.

Era Corporation has created a new Air Traffic Management business unit, which will be led by Russell Hulstrom, previously Era’s Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Effective immediately, Mr. Hulstrom steps into the role of Vice President and General Manager for the Air Traffic Management Solutions business unit with complete profit and loss responsibility for the business. Additionally, Era has named Bernard Asare as its Sales Director for ATM Solutions in the Americas.

Era Corporation has been invited to participate in the International Cooperation on Airport Surveillance (ICAS) as an industry partner. The ICAS group brings together airports, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and Eurocontrol to support the implementation, integration and exploitation of airport surveillance systems, covering all phases of ground movement, with an emphasis on Advanced-Surface Guidance and Control Systems (A-SMGCS).

Era Corporation announced today at its annual AirScene.com Customer Conference in Washington, D.C. that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) has selected Era, after a competitive solicitation process, to install its new Noise & Flight Track Monitoring System (NFTMS). The NFTMS will feature Era’s AirScene.com NOMS and Brüel & Kjær’s 3639E noise monitors and will serve Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.

Era has been awarded a patent covering fundamental attributes of network-centric management of surveillance system-wide information, including distributed timing and surveillance data bandwidth management. The patent includes methods of ADS-B tracking and multilateration, where aircraft transponder signals are received over local, regional and wide-area networks using a number of receivers designed to filter redundant transponder signals, time-stamp filtered signals and forward surveillance information to air traffic control and other users.

ATNS (Air Traffic & Navigation Services) has selected Era Corporation to provide O.R. Tambo International Airport (formerly Johannesburg International Airport) with its MSS multilateration and ADS-B surveillance system and Squid vehicle tracking units. The system will be integrated with the A-SMGCS supplied by Siemens Limited, Industrial Solutions and Services and their major sub-contractor, Park Air Systems, to provide surface surveillance for the airport.
