Airports Authority of India has selected Era Corporation, in partnership with the Holland Institute of Traffic Technology (HITT), to provide three multilateration and ADS-B surface surveillance systems for India.

(NYSE: SRX), a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to government organizations, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Era Corporation, a privately held provider of advanced surveillance technologies for the air traffic management, airport operations, military and security markets.

Era Corporation has reached a major manufacturing milestone with the delivery of its 1,500th Squid, the company’s industry leading vehicle tracking unit. The landmark Squid was delivered to NATS of the UK for use at London’s Gatwick Airport.

Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai), Thailand’s Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP), has selected Era to provide a nationwide ADS-B surveillance network.

Era Corporation achieved site acceptance with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for its ADS-B and multilateration surveillance system at the Beijing Capital International Airport in advance of the 2008 Summer Olympics as planned.

Airways New Zealand (ANZ) has selected Era Corporation to provide two multilateration and ADS-B surveillance systems for New Zealand.  The first will be a wide area solution for the Queenstown International Airport, which will cover the surrounding terminal airspace, and the second will be a surface solution for the Auckland International Airport.

Era Corporation successfully installed its MSS system for surface surveillance at the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport and achieved site acceptance with Hungarocontrol.  The solution uses strategically placed sensors to provide extended coverage of runways, taxiways and aprons, improved automation of aircraft identification and enhanced surveillance in all weather conditions.

Era Corporation will once again serve as a premier sponsor for ATC Global 2008, the world’s largest air traffic management event. ATC Global takes place March 11th-13th at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center in The Netherlands.  The event brings together leading Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) to advance the goals of the global air traffic management community and review new technologies.
