The Rannoch system provides flight data to the Authority for both Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU). Louisville International Airport is one of the world’s busiest cargo airports and is home to UPS. Rannoch has many ADS-B/multilateration flight tracking systems deployed world wide including many that serve the needs of airport operations monitoring and air traffic control systems. Rannoch was the first company in the world to deploy multilateration to supply flight track data to airport monitoring and management systems and is the only company in the world that can offer its< own multilateration flight tracking system and complete airport management software. “ADS-B and multilateration represent the future off light tracking technology and Rannoch has been leading the way with constant innovation, as evidenced by over 20 patents issued and pending held by the company in the field of ADSB/ multilateration, airport management , and revenue management systems,” stated Robert Blair, Rannoch’s Commercial Sales Manager. “Airports today are looking for systems that have a proven track record and offer assurances that they are investing in technologies with a future. Rannoch realized the advantages of this advanced technology in the airport operations market years ago and has been alone in bringing ADS-B/multilateration systems to the airport market at a cost that is competitive with older, less advanced independent tracking technologies,” stated Blair. Another advantage of the AirScene ADSB/multilateration system is that it allows smaller airfields access high quality flight tracking data, something not possible before Rannoch introduced this technology to the airport market. Installed in 2000, the multilateration system at Hyannis was one of Rannoch’s first airport management installations and has benefited from years of experience and continued investment since installation. “A very useful feature of the multilateration system is the ability to track aircraft at altitudes down to the airport surface. This is a great benefit since the nearest conventional radar is located over 12 miles from the airport,” stated Christina Sullivan, Noise Abatement Coordinator at the Barnstable Municipal Airport. At Louisville, Rannoch has multiplied the utility of the AirScene ADS-B/multilateration flight tracking system by integrating other patented Rannoch innovations, such as the incorporation of D-ATIS into the airport management database. Combining multiple technologies into a single system has enabled capabilities that never before existed in the airport management market and allows Louisville to automatically produce complex contra-flow reports directly from the AirScene system. Rannoch’s staff includes software developers, scientists, and engineers who all work to develop both the multilateration system and airport management software, allowing seamless and rapid integration of new capabilities and integration. This high level of integration and ability to respond rapidly with new innovations would not be possible if multiple suppliers were involved. |
