Effective immediately, Mr. Spurny steps into the role of Vice President and General Manager for the Military and Security Solutions business unit, which produces surveillance products for the military and homeland security markets. In this role, Mr. Spurny will have complete profit and loss responsibility for the business. The business unit is managed out of Era’s Czech Republic subsidiary ERA a.s. which has a long and colorful heritage of developing state-of-the-art passive surveillance solutions. Mr. Spurny is exclusively responsible for all operations -- including efforts to market, sell, license, manufacture, contract, finance, export and distribute its passive surveillance products to military and homeland security customers. Mr. Spurny also serves as the Chairman of the ERA a.s. Board of Directors. ERA a.s. manufactures Vera, a passive ESM tracking solution, and SkyTrax, a mobile tracking solution. Vera utilizes TDOA (time difference of arrival) techniques to passively locate and track air, sea and ground targets based on emissions. SkyTrax provides a highly portable solution, going where traditional radar cannot, to provide tracking analysis and operations for a number of applications that require rapid deployment. "From product design to sales to manufacturing to distribution and everything in between, Standa has the breadth of experience to independently and successfully manage all operations of this subsidiary." With this announcement, Era has completed the transformation of the company to a business unit organization that began many months ago. Era previously announced its other business units which include the Air Traffic Management Solutions business unit, led by Russell Hulstrom, VP and GM, and the Airport Operations Solutions business unit led by Bill Colligan, VP and GM. |
