Reston, VA – December 13, 2007 – Virtually unprecedented in the Airport Noise Monitoring industry, Era has recently delivered its AirScene.com NOMS system to the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport in Southern California on-time and on-budget.  This marks the first time in recent history that any Noise and Operations Management System, from any vendor, has been completed on-time while meeting or exceeding all customer requirements.  The Santa Barbara deployment helps validate Era’s groundbreaking combination of independent flight tracking ground stations and hosted applications to rapidly deploy powerful operations solutions for airports and airlines.

Noise monitoring and flight tracking have been growing concerns for the Santa Barbara Airport as flight operations have continued to increase.  After evaluating a number of market-leading solutions, the City of Santa Barbara selected Era’s Noise and Operations Management System, AirScene.com NOMS.  The solution included MSS, Era’s multilateration flight tracking system, WebScene, Era’s community web portal, and a Digital Voice Recorder (DVR) for monitoring pilot communications.  The city also selected Brüel & Kjær noise monitors for a second phase.

“We were really impressed with Era’s ability to deliver a multilateration flight tracking system adapted to the unique geometry of our airport,” said Tracy Lincoln, Operations Manager for Santa Barbara Municipal Airport.  “Not only did Era meet our specific needs, but they were able to execute the project on-time and on-budget.  And because AirScene.com is a hosted solution, deploying the AirScene.com NOMS software required no additional infrastructure and we were operational on day one.”

“Era is turning a corner in the NOMS business with our new product, AirScene.com NOMS, and is leveraging our unmatched independent flight tracking, robust hosted applications and experienced support staff to reengineer the NOMS acquisition process, getting customers from selection to completion faster than ever before,” said Bill Colligan, Vice President & General Manager, Airport Operations Solutions.  “Era is rapidly becoming the vendor with a proven record of getting things done on-time, on-budget and to specifications.”

Era has seen tremendous interest in its suite of web-based airport operations surveillance products, with recent selections by Santa Clara County in California and the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA).
