The Flight Critical Systems Research contract is organized to provide specialized engineering in four major areas:
The NASA Langley Research Center $35M, five-year contract establishes a limited task-order competition environment for five selected companies; Rannoch, Boeing Phantom Works, Honeywell Corporation, ARINC Engineering Services, and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. “We are delighted to be in the company of several of America’s leading aerospace companies to be selected for this very important NASA Aeronautics program,” said Rick Cassell, Rannoch’s program manager. Rannoch has been working with NASA Langley for the past ten years under several programs related to aircraft safety and air traffic operations. This has included support for Synthetic Vision Systems (SVS) research and Small Aircraft Transportation Systems (SATS). Rannoch also developed its PathProx® runway incursion alerting system in cooperation with NASA. Rannoch has won three NASA Turning Goals into Reality (TGIR) awards for projects sponsored by NASA Langley, two for work related to PathProx® and one for SATS. Rannoch’s Flight Critical Systems Research team includes a mix of highly capable organizations including several larger aviation companies, specialized smaller companies, and universities, including Rockwell Collins, Raytheon Company, SRI International, Barron Associates, Mulkerin Associates, Strategic Aeronautics, Computer Networks and Software, AeroTech Research, ViGYAN, Cambridge Communications, Sanchez Industrial Design, the Rich Group, University of Iowa, Ohio University, Old Dominion University (ODU), and Averett University. |
